Dal makhani, butter chicken, pakoda kadhi, mixed vegetables, and other yummy dishes are enough to make our mouth water. As much as we love to relish these delights, we can all agree that their real taste comes with soft Indian bread only. Whether it is a soft phulka, a missi roti, or the varieties that are stuffed with aloo, pyaaz, and whatnot, these breads always make us drool. But, amid these, nothing comes close to the taste of buttery naan. The stretchy and soft naan with a perfect crunch is the star of any Indian meal. In fact, it is something that we order at every restaurant and even find them at weddings. However, when we try to make it at home, we don’t get that same restaurant-style texture. The naans that we make at our homes may have a dense texture and get burnt in the process. So, if you want to make a restaurant-style naan at home, try mixing some yoghurt in the dough!
Traditionally, naan is made up of yeast, flour, water, and salt. However, yeast is something that is not available to everyone. And even if it is available, some may not know how to make use of it. So, if the same is the case with you, try mixing dahi! Dahi makes the naan batter softer. This, in turn, helps to have that perfect restaurant-style texture! Check out the recipe below:
Naan With Yoghurt Recipe: Here’s How To Make Naan With Yoghurt
Combine the flour, salt, and baking soda. Then add yoghurt to knead the dough. Cover with a moist towel and set aside in a warm spot. Once you see that the dough has risen, punch it and fold it again. Let it rest for 30 more minutes. Now make small roundels from the dough, top it with kalonji seeds and cook it on your tawa, so you have a fluffy and stretchy naan! Serve with your favourite curries, and enjoy!
